Hunter Education Class

A free two-day course will be held February 7th and 14th, 2004 from 8:00am-3:30pm. Participants MUST attend both days. The course will be held at the Allen County Extension Office, 4001 Crescent Ave, Fort Wayne (on the east side of the IPFW Campus). Class size is limited. Pre-registration is required. Please bring your own sack lunch. Persons born before December 31, 1986 must successfully complete a hunter education course in order to purchase a hunting license. Anyone ages 12 and under must be accompanied during the course by a parent or guardian. To pre-register, call the Purdue Extension Service, Allen County at 481-6826.

 

4-H Shooting Sports .22 Rifle Program

The 4-H Shooting Sports .22 Rifle program will begin January 7, 2004 at 6:30pm at Concordia Lutheran High School, 1601 St. Joe River Drive, Fort Wayne, IN. All meetings will be held at Concordia High School Shooting Range, Concordia Lutheran High School. Enrollment in this discipline is limited to 30 participants for youths in grades 5-12. If you are interested, you must call 481-6826 to request a flyer and return required paperwork and the $20.00 fee to secure a spot in the class. Enrollment in the program is on a first come first paid basis. For more information call Barb Thuma at 481-6826.

 

Wildlife Education Program

Allen County 4-H Programs and the Fox Island Nature Center are sponsoring a series of 8 sessions on Wildlife Education for Youth in grades 3-12. This series will begin on January 17, 2004 and conclude on March 6, 2004. The sessions will be held at Fox Island Nature Center from 3-5pm on Saturdays and include a field trip. Cost is $20, which includes entry to Fox Island Nature Center and all program supplies. Class size is limited to the first 25 who have paid and registered. Minimum class size is 5. Registration deadline is January 9, 2004. Call Allen County Extension Office at 418-6826 to request registration materials.

 

Air Rifle Program Sponsored by Allen County 4-H Shooting Sports

The 4-H Shooting Sports Air Rifle program will begin January 13 at 6:30pm at the Hoagland Pavilion, Hoagland, IN. Enrollment in this discipline is limited to 12 participants, grades 3-12. If you are interested, you must call 481-6826 to request a flyer and return required paperwork and the $20 fee to secure a spot in the class. Registration is on a first paid basis.

 

4-H Annual Meeting to Be Held January 6, 2004

A celebration of Youth! Allen County 4-H Board, Inc. Directors will conduct their Allen County 4-H Clubs annual meeting, January 6, 2004, at the Allen County Extension Office. The evening will include a meal, entertainment, election of Directors for Allen County 4-H Clubs, Inc, and a review of the 2003 accomplishments. Dinner will be at the business meeting at 7:15pm. The meal will cost $6.00 per person. To attend the meeting please RSVP to 481-6429 by December 31, 2003.
