FOX ISLAND WINTER OLYMPICS/ANIMAL DETECTIVE

Where: Fox Island, Yohne Road
Activities, games, crafts, lunch and snack is $30 per camper per day. Dress for the weather. Cross-country skiing weather permitting.

COMMUNITY HARVEST FOOD BANK COLLECTING
Many people are needing to ask for food help for the first time in their lives due to the flood and many job losses in our area. ‑The food bank has been collecting food and turkeys since before Thanksgiving to meet the needs of its member agencies throughout its 9-county service area of northeast Indiana. ‑This year Community Harvest was given requests for 6,500 turkeys for Thanksgiving and Christmas distributions. ‑Community Harvest still needs to procure 1,600 turkeys to meet the requests for Christmas distributions. ‑Anyone wishing to donate a frozen turkey and/or nonperishable food item may bring it to the food bank at 999 E. Tillman Road, Monday – Friday 7:30am – 5:00pm or Saturday 8:00am to 2:00pm. ‑For more information, call 447-3696. ‑Turkeys will be accepted until noon on Christmas Eve. ‑Community Harvest will be closed from noon on December 24 until 7:30am on Monday, December 29.

EDWARDS
PRODUCTION
AUDITION PLANNED
Edwards Productions is having a mass audition. It is scheduled on January 4, 2003 at 7pm, at the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory. This will be the only audition date for all of their winter/spring shows. They are looking for over 75 actors for the first three shows for their 2004 season. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! They are also looking for anyone interested in Two by Two, Spoon River Anthology, or Wally’s Cafe. Edwards Productions is very excited by the offerings and opportunities for their actors and actresses and also for anyone interested in behind the scenes! Auditions will consist of getting to know Edwards Productions and their processes, meeting the auditioners, reading a small section of a play, and for those interested in the musical, and singing 16 measures of a song. ABOITE LUTHERAN CHURCH ANNOUNCES NEW SERVICE TIMES
Aboite Lutheran Church, 10312 Aboite Center Road has changed service times. Services now begin Sunday at 8:30am, 10:15am, and Monday at 7pm. Kids Konnection (Sunday School) begins at 10:15am Sunday mornings. Nursery care is offered for infants through 4-year olds for all services.

CHURCHES COMBINE TO PRESENT MUSICAL
What: “Two From Galilee,” a grand-scale Broadway style Christmas musical
When: Friday, December 19 and Saturday, December 20 at 7:30pm
Where: Scottish Rite Center
The production is a collaboration of First Assembly of God and Calvary Temple. The proceeds from ticket sales will benefit local Matthew 25 Health and Dental Clinic. “Two From Galilee” is written by Robert Sterling and Karla Worley and based upon the book by Marjorie Holmes. It tells the love story of Mary and Joseph, as well as the divine destiny for their lives as the earthly parents of Jesus. The orchestra is conducted by Benny Ferguson, worship pastor at Calvary Temple.
Cost: Tickets $10 each and sold at Anchor Room Bookstore, Calvary Temple and First Assembly of God.

The 2004 Miss Fort Wayne Scholarship Pageant is seeking entrants ages 17 to 24 who attend college in Allen County, reside in Allen County and attend college elsewhere, or are in their senior year of high school. Contestants must complete and return paperwork by December 31, 2003 and attend an orientation workshop February 15, 2004. The pageant will be on March 7th in the South Side High School Performing Arts Center. The winner will compete at the Miss Indiana Pageant in Terre Haute in June.

WANTED! VOLUNTEERS TO ASSIST SENIOR CITIZENS
The AARP Tax-Aide program needs your help in assisting Senior Citizens to prepare their Federal and/or State of Indiana Tax Returns. After training by an IRS Instructor, the counselors are assigned to a site in Allen County. We ask the volunteer to work forty (40) hours during the tax season (2 February to 15 April 2004). Seeking to alleviate the problems of the homeless, Vincent House, 2827 Holton Avenue (456-4172) provides shelter, care, advocacy, affordable housing and support services for homeless families as these families build strength and strive to become independent, productive members of the community. Rooted in a belief in God, and under the direction of a diverse board, Vincent House seeks to affirm the dignity of life for all served. In doing so, The Vincent Village Outlet Store has opened at 918 E. Pontiac where families in the Vincent Village program can pick out furnishings for their home at no cost. We are in need of gently used furniture, appliances and household items. We especially need beds (twin) and dressers. Your donations help Vincent House provide comfortable, safe, and affordable housing for homeless families in Fort Wayne. Call 456-4172 to schedule an appointment to visit our showroom or schedule a pick-up, if you wish to donate furnishings.
We have special needs also – diapers in all sizes – wipes – adult/child Tylenol, no-alcohol cold medication – coffee/sugar – paper plates, napkins, paper towels, hair care products for Afro-Americans, anti-bacterial hand soap, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, bleach, hats, gloves, mittens, and boots for children.

FUN-FOOD-FELLOWSHIP
First Presbyterian Church, 300 West Wayne Street, Fort Wayne, offers a program of fellowship and cards each Wednesday from 9:30am to 3pm – September through May.
