HARVEY E. REED, 83
HARVEY E. REED, 83, of Fort Wayne, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 1, 2005, at his rural Fort Wayne home. Born April 8, 1922, of Yoder, he served during World War II; was a member of GE Quarter Century Club, American Legion Post 241, GE Volunteer Fire Department and Nine Mile United Methodist Church. He was a press operator for General Electric for 42 years and six months and also was a funeral home attendant for Elzey Patterson Rodak Funeral Homes for 12 years. His hobbies included golf, fishing and gardening.
“A loving husband of 59 years, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who enjoyed life to its fullest and he will be missed by all.”
Surviving are wife Ruth J. Reed of Fort Wayne; son-in-law, Dave Egts of Fort Wayne; grandsons, Todd Egts and Troy (Christina) Egts, both of Fort Wayne; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Joyce Egts; and brothers, Howard and Elmer Reed. Funeral service was Friday, November 4, at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Burial in Nine Mile Cemetery.
