PAUL E. POIRY, 82
PAUL E. POIRY, 82, of Fort Wayne, died Friday, July 3, 2009, at Riverbend Health Care Center. Born on March 25, 1927, in Fort Wayne, he was the owner of City Market, retiring in 1991. He served his country in the U.S. Army, was a member of the Model A Club and past member of the Ossian Lions Club. He was also a member of St. Therese Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mabelene Poiry of Fort Wayne; stepchildren, Rosalee (Tom) Hockenberry, Kay Leslie (John), Shirley (Mark) Elliott and Charles Kirkwood, all of Fort Wayne; 13 stepgrandchildren; 27 step-great-grandchildren; 25 step-great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Cecilia (Mettler) Poiry; daughter, Sharon Fisher; three sisters; and two brothers.
Service was 1 p.m. Tuesday at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
