PHYLLIS B. “MIMI” BARBOUR, 81
PHYLLIS B. “MIMI” BARBOUR, 81, of Fort Wayne, died Friday, October 6, 2006 at Lutheran Hospital. She retired from Fort Wayne Community Schools in 1992 and was a homemaker. A member of Calvary United Methodist Church, she tutored children at church after school. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary, the Homemakers Club, loved to play bingo and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
She is survived by her son, Paul W. (Betty) Barbour of Hoagland; grandchildren, Paula (Christopher) Thomas of Fort Wayne and Heather (Craig) Brames of Woodburn; great-grandchildren, Hayden Thomas, Chesney Thomas and Piper Brames; brother, Robert (Charlotte) Horner of Clearwater, Florida and sister-in-law, Lou Horner of Atlanta, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Barbour; son, Allen Barbour and brother, Jerry Horner.
Funeral services were Tuesday 11:00am at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road. Friends called on Monday 4-8pm. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
The family’s preferred memorial is Calvary United Methodist Church.
