WILLIAM J. SHANNON, SR., 66
WILLIAM J. SHANNON, SR., 66, from Convoy, OH, passed away Friday, October 11, 2013 at his residence. He was born April 14, 1947 to the late William and Marjorie Shannon. He graduated from Central High School and served in the U. S. Air Force. He worked as a painter and then retired as shop foreman from Crumback Chevrolet. He was always known for his custom painting of cars and motorcycles, of which motorcycles were his passion.
He said “On earth I painted flames; in Heaven I’ll be painting angel wings”.
Surviving are his wife, Cindy Shannon of Convoy, OH; children, William J. (Danielle) Shannon, Jr., Karma J. (Todd) McClain, Donald E. Mentzer, and Julia R. (Joe Perkins) Kelly, all of Fort Wayne; siblings, Patrick (Deb) Shannon and Betty (Scott) Crosley, both of Fort Wayne; 12 grandchildren; and one great grandson.
Funeral was Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809 with 2 hour of visitation prior. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Community Health Hospice.
