OTTO C. GEURS, SR., 84, of Fort Wayne, died Tuesday, October 18, 2005, at River Bend Healthcare Center. Born October 13, 1921, in Heukelum, Netherlands, he was a U.S. citizen since 1968. He worked as a Welder for Joslyn Steel for 27 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and The Fort Wayne Sport Club and was a former member of Fort Wayne Kiwanas Club.
Surviving are two daughters, Johanna (Joseph) Gorsuch of Webster, N.Y. and Pieternella “Nellie” Geurs of Ossian; three sons, Johannes Z. “John” (Diana Johnson) Geurs of Ossian, Otto C. (Margaret “Peggy” Isenhour) Geurs of Mulberry and Gerrit M. Geurs of New York, N.Y.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Kees Geurs of The Netherlands; and a sister, Nel Van Meekeren of The Netherlands.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pieter Geurs and Maaike (De Groot); wife, Christina (Jacobs) Geurs; and a daughter, Maaike Geurs.
Memorial service was Sunday, October 23, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road.
