CHRISTINA GEURS, 78

CHRISTINA GEURS, 78, died Wednesday, November 17, 2004, at Riverbend Healthcare Center. Born in Gorinchem, The Netherlands, she was a nurse and served with the Red Cross during World War II. Moving to the U.S. in 1957, she lived in Fort Wayne, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church and volunteered locally for Red Cross. She was also a resident of Pretty Lake.

A beloved wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her husband of 57 years, Otto C. Geurs; daughters, Johanna Gorsuch of Webster, N.Y. and Pieternella Geurs of Ossian; sons, Johannes Geurs of Ossian, Otto C. Geurs Jr. (wife, Margaret “Peggy’ Isenhour) Geurs of Mulberry and Gerrit Geurs of New York, N.Y.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her brother, Gerrit Jacobs of Beusichem, The Netherlands.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Maaike Geurs.

Memorial service was Saturday, November 27, 2004, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Homes, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, with calling one hour prior to service.

Preferred memorials to the American Red Cross or the National Kidney Foundation.
