GENEVIEVE MARIE HERBER, 96
GENEVIEVE MARIE HERBER, 96, of Fort Wayne, died Wednesday, February 18, 2004, at Lutheran Hospital, in Fort Wayne. Born January 8, 1908 in Ashley, she was a homemaker, and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hessen Cassel and the Rosary Sodality. “Genevieve was a loving wife and devoted mother who lived her life in service of others.”
Surviving are sons, Jerome Herber of Fort Wayne, Lawrence Herber of Alto-Loma, Calif., Fr. John Herber, C.P.P.S, Carthagena, Ohio, Jim Herber of Fort Wayne; daughters, Phyllis Forbing of Columbia City, Maxine Scheiber of Columbia City, Carolyn Boyle of Fort Wayne, Mary Armstrong of Goshen, Helene Jacquay of Auburn, Joanne Nesler of Tuscon, Arizona, Rosemary Stout of Huntertown, Jane Eisberg of Green Valley, Arizona and Barbara Smith of Fort Wayne; 79 grandchildren; 180 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grand-children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip J. Herber; daughter, Anna Marie Cappelli; son, Joseph Herber; twin sister, Catherine Minnick and sister, Olivia Minnick.
Calling was from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 20 at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road. Mass of Christian burial was 11 a.m. Saturday, February 21st, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hessen Cassel, 11337 S. U.S. Hwy. 27, Fort Wayne, with Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
