MARY LOU (STAUP) SPENCER, 60
MARY LOU (STAUP) SPENCER, 60, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 after fighting cancer for over three years.
Mary was born to Donald and Betty Staup on March 7, 1954, in Lima, Ohio. She married David Spencer in 1978, and they moved to Indiana in 1986 with their children. In addition to spending several years as a stay-at-home mom, Mary also worked for Southwest Allen County Schools and served as the church secretary at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church.
Mary’s love for her Lord was displayed through her many years of service for others.
She is survived by her husband, David Spencer, and her three children, Tom (Linda) Spencer, Ben (Carrie) Spencer, and Paula (Dan) Calabrese. Mary was grandma to five grandchildren, Caleb, Mason, Parker, and Olivia Spencer, and Claire Calabrese.
She is also survived by her mother, Betty Staup; sister, Joyce (Ralph) Etgen; and her three brothers, Ron (Teresea) Staup; Ed (Jackie) Staup; and Tim (Vickie) Staup.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Staup.
On Sunday, January 18, friends and family called from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana. On Monday, January 19, a visitation was held at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 1819 Reservation Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Christian burial on Tuesday, January 20, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in New Albany, Indiana.
