ESTHER L. SIPE, 86
ESTHER L. SIPE, 86, of Fort Wayne, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Coventry Meadows. She was born on December 7, 1927 in Farmer, Ohio to the late EC and Grace (Sewell) Allen. She was married to the late Robert W. “Bob” Sipe for 56 years. She retired from Lincoln Life Insurance Co. as a cook and also worked as a seamstress. She was active in the Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, and PTA. She was a member of Nine Mile United Methodist Church and a 50+ year member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she served as a past Worthy Matron at both Waynedale #600, where she was a charter member, and Trinity Chapter #576.
She enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, quilting, camping, traveling, her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Surviving family include her children, Raymond A. (Sharon) Sipe, Roger W. (Gwen) Sipe, Mark D. Sipe, Marcia D. (Larry) Owen; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in passing by her 6 sisters and 4 brothers.
A funeral service will be 11am on Monday, June 2, 2014 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 1-5 pm on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at the funeral home with an OES service at 5 pm. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery.
