CLIFFORD CLARE MARSHALL, 94

CLIFFORD CLARE MARSHALL, 94, of Fort Wayne, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014 at his residence. He was born November 28, 1919 in Grandville, Michigan to the late William and Clara (Blake) Marshall. He worked as an owner/operator carpet installation contractor, later becoming manager of the carpet department at Wolf and Dessaur, and then later L. S. Ayres. He was a WWII Army veteran and was engaged in the battles of Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, the Rhineland, and Central Europe. He was decorated with the European Theater Ribbon with four Bronze Stars and the Victory Medal for serving with the First Army in Ordnance. He was a member of the American Legion #241 and was an avid golfer late into his 80s as well as a huge Detroit Tigers Fan.

He loved spending time with his family and friend and will be missed by all.

Surviving are his children, Scott C. (Leslie) Marshall of Fort Wayne, Pamela (Thanh) Ly of Fort Worth, Texas, and Debra (Companion, Denis) McClain of Carrollton, TX; brother, Leon Marshall of Bryon Center, Michigan; sister, Mabel Lampen of Grandville, MI; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Mildred L. Marshall in 2007; eight brothers and sisters.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 1 PM at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN with visitation 2 hours prior. Burial at Highland Park Cemetery.
