WILLIAM G. FOLAND, 89

WILLIAM G. FOLAND, 89WILLIAM G. FOLAND, 89, passed away on January 8, 2014. He was born on August 12, 1924 in Hammond. Bill grew up in Tipton, Indiana, and in 1942 was a starter on a small town basketball team that made the semi-finals. It was a true “Hoosiers” story, and the members of that team have been close friends for over 70 years. Bill served in the Navy from 1943 until 1946, then attended Butler and graduated from I.U. During his career, he worked for Magnavox, was Credit Manager at North American Van Lines, and retired as Accounts Receivable Manager at Essex.

Bill was an avid golfer and loved to walk the beaches of Hilton Head. He walked many miles in Indian Village with his white standard poodles, Katie & Dinah.

Surviving are his wonderful wife of 67 years, Alice Elmore Foland (“It Had to be You!”), his loving daughters Barb Mathews and Nancy Foland, and his beloved dog, Dinah. He was the most wonderful husband and father anyone could ever ask for and will be dearly missed!
The funeral will be private.

Memorials may be made to Animal Care and Control, Habitat for Humanity, or the charity of your choice. Please visit www.elzey-patterson-rodakfuneralhome.com to leave condolences.
