ELIZABETH ANN “BETTY” ADAMS, 82
ELIZABETH ANN “BETTY” ADAMS, 82, died at home Sunday, January 19, 2014 following a brief illness. She was born, August 31, 1931, to the late Paulus and Ressie (Risser) Adams. Betty graduated from North Side High School in 1949. She worked at Peoples Trust Bank and its successors for 42 years, serving as head of Bookkeeping and later Proof Department, retiring in 1993 as Assistant Vice President. Betty was a member of Forest Park United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities including Church Treasurer, Treasurer of the United Methodist Women, member of the Clowns of the Cross, Lay Delegate to Annual Conference, and member of the Food Pantry Ministry Team. She also served as Board Member of Day Away Adventures. Betty loved her church, her two generations of nieces and nephews, reading and cooking.
She is survived by sisters, Deloris “Dee” Adams, Peggy Adams, and Sandra (David) Knepple; brother, Phillip Adams, all of Fort Wayne; nieces and nephews, Mitzi Adams, Jeffrey (Laura) Adams, Andrew (Amy) Adams, Chana (Mike) French, Robin (Marty) Piercy, Melissa Holman, and Sheri Lake; as well as many great nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jay Adams.
A funeral service was 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Forest Park United Methodist Church, 2100 Kentucky Avenue, Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Visitation from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Burial in Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke.
