JOSEPH ADAM CACCAMO, 36JOSEPH ADAM CACCAMO, 36, of Milan, Illinois, died Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois.

Visitation was 4 to 7 p.m., Friday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Funeral services were 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Neal’s Funeral Home, Osgood, Indiana. Additional visitation was 1:30 p.m. until service time Sunday at Neal’s Funeral Home. Burial at the Hopewell Cemetery, Holton, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be determined later.

Joseph Adam Caccamo was born February 12, 1977 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, a son of Joseph D. and Caroline Caccamo. He married Kelly J. Summers on April 5, 2003 in Carmel, Indiana.

He received his Associates Degree in Paramedical Sciences from the Lutheran College of Health Professions in Fort Wayne. Joe graduated from the University St. Francis, Fort Wayne with a Bachelor’s degree in Science and had dual majors in biology and chemistry. He graduated from the Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa with a Master’s of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Joe came to the Quad Cities to serve as a physician assistant with the Homeless Outreach Program of Community Health Care of the Quad Cities. He also worked as a physician assistant for Trinity Medical Center at Muscatine and had also served at all of their Quad City locations. While living in Indiana he served as a paramedic in the emergency room of Parkview Health Systems-Huntington, IN.

Joe enjoyed life, the outdoors, sports, and was committed to learning. He was a huge fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana University.

Joe lived, loved and laughed every day and wanted to be surrounded by his family. He was the Best Husband, Dad, Brother, Son, Friend and Practical Joker that touched the lives of those fortunate enough to be around him. Joe wanted to make a difference in the world and lived his life each day helping someone. He helped heal people through his knowledge of medicine or by providing support through his gentle nature and humor. He will dearly be missed by all.

Survivors include his wife, Kelly; children Avery Ann (8), Joseph Andrew “Drew” (7), Addison Grace (6), Macey Catherine (3), and Dawson Daay (2); his parents, Joseph D. and Caroline Caccamo, Fort Wayne; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Vicki Caccamo and their children Joshuah and Josephine Caccamo, all of Fort Wayne; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Denny and Mary Summers, Osgood; brother-in-law, Wesley (Robbie) Summers, Osgood; sister-in-law, Jennifer (Scott) Rinear and their children, Thomas, Evan and Grant Rinear, all of Osgood; and his dear friends, Colin and Brandi McGuire and their children, Savanah, Kennedy, Garrett and Kellsey McGuire, all of Milan.
