THESTLE MARGARET (TYNER) WHITMORE, 88

THESTLE MARGARET (TYNER) WHITMORE, 88, of Fort Wayne, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2006, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was a housekeeper at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for 35 years and a member of St. Therese Catholic Church, Fort Wayne for over 40 years. She was very active in her church and was a member of the Altar Society, Funeral Dinner Committee, Member of the Annual Christmas Bizarre and a Eucharistic Ministry. She retired at 80 years old.

She will always be remembered for her love of roses, southern cooking, quilting, and undying devotion for her family.

During her last couple years she was taken care of by her eldest daughter, Ethel Randolph.

She will be loved and missed.

Born May 5, 1917, in North Carolina, she was the daughter of Cossie O. and Lena (Jones) Tyner.

On May 16, 1942, she married Hampton James Whitmore; he survives. She is also survived by her daughters, Ethel (Steve) Randolph of Fort Wayne and Bonnie (Dave) Rodewald of Port Orange, Florida; two sons, Autry (Trudy) Whitmore, of Fort Wayne and Vincent (Karen) Whitmore of Churubusco; 12 grandchildren, Kathy Gibson, Jerry Johnson, Lisa Boroff, Denise Jones, Eric Wilkins, Stefanie Whitmore, Scott Rodewald, Tim Rodewald, Garamy, Sam, Shane and Lauren Whitmore; and 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ellen Kasales; and two brothers, George and C.O. Tyner.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Mary Tyner, Eleanor McBride and Mabel Chavis; and a brother, Otis Tyner. High Mass was Wednesday, April 5, at St. Therese Catholic Church, Fort Wayne. Calling also at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
