DALE A. OSBORN, 88
DALE A. OSBORN, 88, of Fort Wayne, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2005, at Lutheran Home. Born January 18, 1917, in Wells County, he was the son of Charles C. Osborn and Beulah Bell (Folk). He married Naomi P. Anderson on November 6, 1938. He graduated from Lancaster High School and Huntington (College) University. He was a Minister in the United Brethren In Christ denomination, serving churches in Huntington, Monroe, Wren, Ohio and Fort Wayne. In 1956, he worked for North American Consumers Electronics, retiring in 1982. He loved to hunt, was an avid golfer, won several senior awards, and was a Cubs fan. For several years he was a volunteer escort at Lutheran Hospital. After retiring he spent his winters in Florida. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church on Winchester Road.
Surviving are his wife, Naomi: three daughters, Joan (Wilbur) Clymer of Van Wert, Ohio, Janet (Merle) Naeve of Dewey, Arizona and Pauline (William) Arnold of Fremont; five grandchildren, Gary (Deb) Clymer of Troy, Ohio, Rick (Patt) Clymer of Mundelein, Illinois, Patty (Steve) Jones of Van Wert, Ohio, Debi Townsend and and Mark Arnold, both of Fort Wayne; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Jessie of Poneta; and two sisters, Betty Mayer and Bessie Oliver, both of Bluffton.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Kerry Smith; seven brothers, Marion, Dwight, Jay, Clifford, Max, Charles and Paul; and three sisters, Ida Hankins, Mary Perry and Martha Zimmerman.
Funeral service was Saturday, October 29, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road.
Preferred memorials to Calvary United Methodist Church, Lutheran Home on South Anthony or Heartland Hospice.
