ALMA H. WEITZ, 89
ALMA H. WEITZ, 89, died Sunday, November 28, 2004, at St. Joseph Hospital. The Fort Wayne native, was the co-owner of Stan’s 5 & 10 Store for 39 years with her husband, Stanley E. Weitz, who preceded her in death on November 8, 1979. She was past-president of the Calhoun Merchants Association. Mrs. Weitz was also a Realtor, having been the first woman to hold an Indiana Real Estate/Broker License. A member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, she was also an active volunteer at Lutheran Hospital and was a member of both the Indiana and Fort Wayne Square Dance Callers Associations.
Survivors include her daughters, Pamela Scherer, Denise (Ronald) Onyskow and Rosemarie (Michael) Leininger; son, W. Barry (Joyce) Weitz; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service was Saturday, December 4, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Homes, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road. Burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens.
The preferred memorials are Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Aging & In-Home Services or Allen County Council on Aging.
