BENJAMIN I. FORD, 84
BENJAMIN I. FORD, 84, of Fort Wayne, died Sunday, June 6, 2004, at Hospice Home. Mr. Ford was born in Danville, Indiana, July 21, 1919, the son of the Rev. Dr. Charles C. and Eva L. (Miller) Ford. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired as Manager of Purchasing for Fruehauf Corp. in 1952, after 40 years. A member of First Wayne Street United Methodist Church; American Legion Post #423 in Orland; DAV, Chapter #40 and American Ex-POWs, Old Fort Chapter.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul C. Ford, and sisters, Katherine Bonnell and Edith Biddle.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma H. Stahl; sons, Jake F. Ford of Beaverton, Ore., Paul D. Ford of Fort Wayne and Larry L. Ford of Fort Wayne; stepsons, Jeffrey Stahl of South Whitley and Gary Stahl of New Haven; stepdaughter, Lisa Ray of Fort Wayne; sisters, Lois Godlove of Columbus, Ohio and Ethel Zimmer of Delaware, Ohio; two grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; four great-grand-children; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was Thursday, June 10 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Homes, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.
The preferred memorial is Visiting Nurse Service & Hospice or First Wayne Street United Methodist Church.
