SMOKE ON THE WIND
FILL IN THE BLANKS
Behind every good man there is a good
W _ _ _ _.
I’ll bet you wrote down “woman”, didn’t you? ‑Well, that is an old saying and one that is difficult for Native American Indians to comprehend. ‑In the Sacred Circle of Life, the only thing we Indians leave behind is anything that will not help our people. ‑So behind every good man is the anger he left behind, replaced by a joy-filled and grateful spirit.
So, you see – – –
Behind every good man there is a W O R L D that is on Earth as it is in Heaven.
You ask, “But what about the woman? If not behind him, then where is she?”
The woman is his Mother – your Mother – the Mother that sustains all of God’s creation – Mother Earth. ‑So, I ask you – where does she stand with you?
MOTHER EARTH
We walked among the trees, our relatives. ‑It feels good to walk among them.
It is as if our every thought, they seem to know. ‑For a very brief moment I wonder how, and then they speak and say to me:
Move along now, there are more of your relatives that await to show you the things you long to know.
Watch the river and mysteries it holds, you will begin to understand and know.
Be good to Mother Earth.
She will help and guide you on a good path of life.
