JULIA’S PET CORNER
I know everyone thinks their dog is the best, but my dog, Mason is truly entertaining. I’ve only had him a couple weeks. His owners decided he was just too big and difficult to train. I took him thinking I would keep him for a few weeks, put some training on him and find him a good home.
Mason is such a joy; I’m going to have a hard time parting with him. He loves to play. Just now he brought me a ball to throw for him, if I don’t touch it, he’ll bring me another toy, and then another. I guess he thinks if he just brings me the right one I’ll throw it for him. He tears toys to shreds if he gets the chance, then he’ll bat the pieces around like a cat would.
My daughter has been teaching him to do tricks. She makes him sit, then down, and then speak. After he speaks, she says again and then one more time. He is so pleased with himself when he does these things for her. I tried to show someone this trick and he acted like he didn’t have a clue of what I was saying.
Today my daughter was teaching another dog the same trick. As she was giving the commands, Mason was doing all of them when she didn’t acknowledge him, he repeated his trick three times then he did it backwards. He was trying so hard to please her. Just think, his previous owners didn’t think he was very bright. I think he has proved who the bright one was.
