LEONARD V. JOHNSON, 87
Leonard V. Johnson, 87, died Monday, February 10, 2003 at Hospice Home of N.E. Indiana. A native of Fort Recovery, Ohio, he was a local contractor for 45 years before retiring in 1992. He was a 60-year member of Waynedale United Methodist Church, belonged to Waynedale Lodge #739 F&A.M., the Scottish Rite, and the Mizpah Shrine. He was the son of Basil C. Johnson and Mary E. Beemer, both deceased. He was preceded in death by his wife Cyril L. (Stickelman) Johnson who passed away in 1995.
He is survived by daughter Janis Hudson, Fort Wayne; sons Dennis Johnson, Fort Wayne; Ronald Johnson, Coldwater, Michigan; Keith Johnson, Tamarac, Florida; Steven Johnson, Woodburn, Indiana; sister Pauline Miller, Ansonia, Ohio; brother Basil C. Johnson Jr., Sarasota, Florida; 13 Grandchildren, and 16 Great Grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday, February 13, 2003 at Klaehn, Fahl, & Melton Funeral Home Winchester Road Chapel with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park – Rev. Michael Harris officiated. Preferred Memorials to Visiting Nurse Service and Hospice Inc., The Shriners Children’s Hospital or Waynedale United Methodist Church.
