RALPH E. KIESTER, 82
RALPH E. KIESTER, 82, of Fort Wayne, died on Saturday, December 19, 2009, at Lutheran Hospital. Born August 9, 1927, in Fort Wayne, he was a plumber for Kiester Plumbing and later, North Side Plumbing. He also taught plumbing classes at Fort Wayne Community Schools. The U.S. Navy World War II veteran was a member American Legion Post 241 and St. Therese Catholic Church.
His interests included Elmhurst Little League, Flying Circuits of New Haven, bowling, fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rose (Cavanaugh) Kiester of Fort Wayne; children, DeeAnn (Matthew) Priebe of Galesburg, Michigan, Michael (MaryBeth) Kiester of Davisburg, Michigan and Thomas Kiester of Yoder; his grandchildren, Gregory and Stephen Kiester and Jennifer Priebe; and siblings, Robert and William Kiester and Madeline Adams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Clara (Herichide) Kiester; brother, Donald Kiester; and sister, Betty Kiester.
Services were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Rd, Fort Wayne. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday the 21st at the funeral home. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Memorials in memory of Ralph Kiester may be made to the dedicated staff of Dr. Goldstein of the Northeast Indiana Cancer Society or donor’s choice.
