GEORGE ROBERT MICHAEL, 81

George Robert Michael, 81, died Thursday, July 18, 2002 at Parkview Memorial Hospital. A native of Columbus Grove, Ohio, he was employed as an accountant at General Electric Corporation for 42 years. He retired in 1983. He was a WWII AirForce veteran and EX-POW. He is the son of Ellsworth Michael and Effie (Bassett) Michael. He was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church and Secretary-Treasurer; Ex-POWs, Fort Wayne Chapter. He was a loving husband of 58 years, a devoted father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Carmen C. Michael, Fort Wayne; son Robert A. Michael, Fort Wayne; daughters Marcia A. Winkelmann, Indianapolis; Karen S. Michael, Fort Wayne; Joyce L. Davis, Indianapolis; brother Ray Michael, Lima, Ohio; sister Clara Beery, Lima, Ohio; 7 Grandchildren, and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Services were held Monday, July 22, 2002 at Klaehn, Fahl, & Melton Funeral Home on Winchester Road with burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens. Preferred memorials to Emmaus Lutheran Church.
