PRESTON H. HILLE, 85

PRESTON H. HILLE, 85, of Fort Wayne, was called home by his Heavenly Father Wednesday, December 31, 2003, at his residence. Born November 6, 1918, in Fort Wayne, he was a Lathe Operator for General Electric, retiring after 41 years in 1981 and recipient of the Founders Award, in 1977. He was former Commander and 40-year Quartermaster of V.F.W. Post 10,006 and member of American Legion #296. He was a World War II Master Sgt. veteran and U.S. Army reservist.

Surviving are his wife Edna M. L. Hille of Fort Wayne; daughters Linda (Ron) Lake of Indianapolis, Renee (Tom) Gerardot, Carol Hille Klemm and Karen (Ron) Bauer, all of Fort Wayne; brothers Roland Hille of Fort Wayne and Dale Hille of North Liberty, IN; beloved grandfather of Joshua & Jarad Gerardot of Fort Wayne, Jennifer and Kristen Lake of Indianapolis; great-grandson Tyler Lake of Indianapolis; and step-grand-children Brittany Bauer of Fort Wayne, Andrea Frye of Indianapolis, Adam Klemm of Fort Wayne, Mindi Cook of Decatur, and Joshua Bauer of Bolivar, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Beatrice Hille; brother Glenn B. Hille; and sister Shirl Harden.

Service was 11 a.m. Monday, January 5th at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4700 Fairfield Ave., Fort Wayne. Visitation was Sunday, January 4 at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, also one hour prior to service Monday. Military graveside honors by V.F.W. Post #10006. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials to Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church or the Women’s Cancer Center at Lutheran Hospital.
