HELEN EMILY MARIE GROTE, 88
HELEN EMILY MARIE GROTE, 88, of Fort Wayne, was called to her heavenly home Monday, June 7, 2004, at Renaissance Village. Born August 1, 1915, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Frank Alexander and Wilhelmina Sophia (Kiefer) McCollister. She was employed at Wayne Candies and Wayne Knitting Mill, prior to marrying Edward F. Grote, May 2, 1941; he died in 1996. She was a homemaker and mother and member of Emmaus Lutheran Church.
Survivors include son, Donald F. (Lisa) Grote of Fort Wayne; daughter, Barbara J. Grote of Fort Wayne; granddaughters, Jillian M. Grote and Katherine M. Grote, both of Fort Wayne.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Franklin J., Robert G. and Donald R. McCollister.
Service was Friday, June 11, at Emmaus Lutheran Church, the Rev. Albert Keller officiating. Calling was Thursday, June 10, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Homes, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road. Burial at Covington Memorial Gardens.
