MARLENE R. SIPLES, 72

MARLENE R. SIPLES, 72, of Garrett, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at her home. Born July 23, 1933, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of Edmond J and Hilda Marie (Gerardot) Kal-iker. She formerly owned and operated the Auburn Dairy Freeze and the Backway Inn, Garrett. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Garrett and the Garrett Eagles Auxillary.

“She was a very kind and caring person who’s artistic nature, whether in gardening or crafts, conveyed her love to family and all others who’s lives she touched. She will be greatly missed and her life celebrated by family, loved ones and friends far more than even we could imagine.”

She married Ronald L. Siples on June 25, 1951, in Lake Worth, Florida and he died on May 12, 1999.

Survived by sons, Randy Siples of Yoder, Jeff Siples of Fort Wayne, Keith Siples of Avilla and Greg Siples of Running Springs, California; daughters, Theresa Bolen of Wolcottville and Beth Bohn of Bountiful, Utah; sisters, Rita Freeman of Topeka, Kansas, Sister Linda Kaliker of St. Mary’s of the Woods Sisters of Providence, Karen Wyss of Fort Wayne and Kathleen Delamarter of Flower Mound, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Garrett, with calling 30 minutes prior to Mass. Father Thom Lombardi will officiate. Calling was also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Feller Funeral Home, Waterloo. Burial at Christian Union Cemetery, Garrett.
