JEWELL WINTERS, 98, of Danville, Indiana, died October 18, 2015 at Hendricks Regional Health. “Jewell” was born March 7, 1917 in Deputy, Indiana to Carl and Pearl (Phillips) Fisher. She was a 1934 graduate of Deputy High School.
Jewell married Merrill “Pat” McClain. He preceded her in death. She then married Howard Winters, who also had preceded her in death.
Jewell served as secretary/treasurer for the Fort Wayne Community Schools 17 years, retiring in 1976. She also served as secretary/treasurer for Weisser Park Elementary School. Jewell was currently a member of Taylor United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne, however, most of her life she was a member of the Nine Mile United Methodist Church, also Fort Wayne. She was a member of the Allen County Demonstration Club and the O.E.S. Chapter #600 of Waynedale.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Lydia (Richard) Clark, Danville, Indiana; Merrilyn Barton, Fort Wayne, Indiana; a step-daughter, Gerre Etzler, Fort Wayne; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Jewell was also preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers.
Weaver and Randolph Funeral Home, Danville, Indiana entrusted with the arrangements.

Services were held at 1pm, Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Nine Mile United Methodist Church with visitation at the church from 11am until time of service.
Burial at Covington Memorial Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
