B. MARIE SHATZER, 79
B. MARIE SHATZER, 79, passed away on Saturday February 20, 2016. She was the middle child of Robert and Evelyn (Martin) Roy. She was born in Fort Wayne and lived her whole life in Waynedale, graduating from Elmhurst High School in 1955. Marie worked very hard doing many jobs at G.E. That is where she met the man of her dreams who would show her what true love means, Bob Shatzer. Marie enjoyed traveling, shopping especially when she got a great deal. As well as bringing home many pieces of furniture that needed to be fixed by Bob and stripped, sanded and stained by Marie’s beautiful hands.
Marie’s family includes, daughter, Melissa (Daniel) Fogel, brother, Ralph (Kay) Roy, sister Ethel (Phil) Bunsold, son-in-law Gene Hicks, grandchildren Sharona Garrison, Robert (Jessica) Garrison, Nicole (David) Taylor, Aaron (Angie) Hill, Gena Hicks, Miriah Hicks, Kera Hicks, great-grandchildren, Shawn, Bryce, Sydney, Naudia, Able and Baby Alex.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband Bobbie G. Shatzer, parents Robert and Evelyn Roy, daughter Mariann E. Hicks and granddaughter, Kaylee Hicks.
In keeping with the wishes of Marie there will be no viewing. A celebration of her life was held at 11a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Rd. with calling from 10 until 11 a.m. Inurnment was in Covington Memorial Gardens.
