NED DEWAYNE PICKARD, 86
NED DEWAYNE PICKARD, 86, of Waynedale, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016. He served in the Army during the occupation of Japan during the Korean War as a military policeman from 1951 to 1952. He worked at Essex Wire for 18 years and retired from B F Goodrich after 28 years. Ned was a spirit filled believer that loved the Lord and His Word. He attended The Chapel. He enjoyed bow hunting in Michigan, Bible word search books, antique shops and flea markets, making beautiful model big ships, cars, and trains from wood. He also enjoyed traveling and taking pictures, playing card games, country “Oldies” music, and feeding and watching song birds and wild life.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Benita “Benny” Pickard; daughters, Brenda (Tom) Ford of Hamilton, IN, and Linda (Jim) Wood of Anderson, IN; six grandchildren, Talon Harrell, Tyler (Brooke) Harrell, Jeff Ford, Jacob (Heather) Ford, Mat (Brandy) Gross, and Ryan (Christina) Gross; six great grandchildren, Brady Harrell, Dayne Harrell, Addison Harrell, Reed Ford, Dazmond Gross, and Kayla Gross; his Yorkie buddy Scrappie (“Crappie”); and brother, Charles (Roberta) Pickard.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Margie Bryce and parents Oscar Pickard and Loree (John) Pickard Otis.
Funeral service was Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 11AM at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN with visitation 2 hours prior. Burial at Covington Memorial Gardens.
