Jr. Indiana Master Naturalist Spring Camp

April 4-8
9:30-3:30 daily

The mission of the Junior Indiana Master Naturalist program is to bring together natural resource specialists with young people, ages 9-12, to foster an understanding of Indiana’s plants, water, soils, and wildlife, and to promote volunteer service in local communities.

This year we are offering a reptiles class with Environmental Studies Associate Professor from Ivy Tech, Chris Barlow; a beginning birds class with Stockbridge Audubon member, Margit Codispoti; a native plants class with Riverview Nursery owner Martha Ferguson; a native trees class with NRCS Area Easement Program Specialist, Bill Lambert; a water and soil conservation course with SWCD educator, Matt Jones; not to mention Geology, Macro-Invertebrate and Spring Wildflower classes with Allen County Park naturalists.

The camp includes three volunteer projects: planting trees with Trees of Indiana, putting together plant plugs of native plants with Riverview Nursery, and building rain barrels for Deer Run Wilderness Area.

The cost is only $100 for the entire week and includes three books, a binder of information as well as the incredible exposure to professionals in various environmental fields.

You can register early before your spot is filled at the Home and Garden Show!
