WELCOME HOME VIETNAM VETERAN’S DAY CEREMONY
Riverview Cemetery is honored to be the site for the Welcome Home Vietnam Veteran’s Day Ceremony. This will be the first celebration of its kind in Indiana.
On March 30, 2009, Congress proclaimed a national Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day to be March 30th each year. On March 3, 2014, Indiana officially recognized this day. This ceremony honors and recognizes the numerous contributions of veterans who served in Vietnam, and the importance of helping all of America’s veterans return home and achieve happy, healthy, and productive lives.
“We are so honored to have the first ceremony here at the Veteran’s Section of Riverview Cemetery at the site of our new M41 Tank,” stated Riverview President and D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home Co-Owner, Dave McComb.
The ceremony will begin at 3:00pm and will feature guests from the veteran community including Ralph A. Garcia, Founder of Vietnam Veterans of American Chapter 698; Indiana Representative Matt Lehman, supporter of the HCR, Indiana Representative Rebecca Kubacki, sponsor of House Resolution and other community leaders and supporters.
Riverview Cemetery is located at 11425 Carroll Road. For more information, contact Taron Smith or Nate Hoeffel at (260) 426-9494.
