A PASSION FOR RACING
Congratulations to Matt Dimit #7 in the open wheel modified race car division. Matt Dimit just finished his best race yet in his #7 modified race car at Baerfield Speedway on Saturday September 14th. He qualified 9th in his division, finished 5th in the heat race, and finished 4th place in the 50 lap feature!
Matt was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He is a parishioner of St. Therese Catholic Church and a graduate of Bishop Luers High School. He is employed at Steel Dynamics, Inc. Butler plant.
Matt began racing at 5 years of age in a go-kart, winning his first championship in 2000, having the most wins ever. He has raced a go-kart in Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan up until this year, when he moved up to the Open Wheel Modified Division, at age 22.
Racing is Matt’s passion and includes his father as his crew chief, his mother and sister and very large group of family and friends as his race fans.
Bring your own chair and join his fan club “on the deck” in turn 1, each Saturday night at Baerfield Speedway. See Matt race next at the Fort Wayne War Memorial Coliseum this December. Go #7! Sponsors needed.
