LILLIAN F. STOPPENHAGEN, 89
LILLIAN F. STOPPENHAGEN, 89, of Ossian passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Ossian Health and Rehabilitation. She was born in Blaze, Kentucky on December 19, 1923 to the late James and Myrtle (Lewis) Morgan. She worked for General Electric for 10 years and Melching Machine Shop as a bookkeeper for 26 years before retiring in 1994. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and American Legion #296. The love of her life was her family and ballroom dancing with her late husband.
She is survived by her two daughters, Deb (Mike) Pursifull of Ossian and Rhonda (Dean) DeRoche of Fort Wayne; her sisters, Juanita Walker, Doris Jones, Dorothy Clark, and Joyce Hunter all of St. Petersburg, Florida; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren; a daughter in law, Millie Stoppenhagen of Noblesville.
She was also preceded in death by her husband Edwin A. Stoppenhagen, a son James M. Stoppenhagen, and two granddaughters Sarah and Amber.
A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ossian with calling one hour prior. Visitation was from 2-4 and 6-8 on Friday, January 11, 2013 at Elzey Patterson Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill Street, Ossian, IN. Burial was in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
