THOMAS A. MCBRIDE, 69
THOMAS A. MCBRIDE, 69, lost his battle with cancer on Saturday, September 29, 2012. He was born February 21, 1943 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He was the son of Margaret and John who preceded him in death. He was the loving husband of Judy (Syndram) and the proud father of Thomas (Gina), Roanoke, Laura (Bill) Fairfield, Columbia City, and Mindy (Scott) Hammond, Ossian. He was the amazing grandfather to Billy, he loved watching you play football, Kaylee, he enjoyed seeing you play volleyball, Taylor, he was proud you shared the same middle name, Michael, he loved the way you played football, Ethan, he looked forward to your baseball games, Leeah, he was happy to share the same birthday, Hayden, he loved walks on the railroad track with you, Emmerson he loved your hugs and kisses, Kendal, he loved your hugs around his neck, and Leland, your freckles melted his heart. He will be greatly missed by his family. Brothers Samual, Albert, Michael, David, and sister, Patricia.
He was preceded in death by his brother John.
He graduated from Elmhurst High School, was a retired brick mason, 40 yrs. with Local #4, he served as Union President several years, was a member of Fort Wayne Beagle Club, belonged to Waynedale American Legion 241. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, spending time with his family, hunting and fishing.
Funeral service was 11:00 am Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809 with visitation 1 hr. prior. Visitation was from 2 pm – 8 pm Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to East Wayne Street Head Start.
