D.O. MCCOMB & SONS EARNS NATIONAL AWARD
D.O. McComb & Sons earned a prestigious award recognizing its commitment to excellence in funeral service from the world’s premier funeral service association.
D.O. McComb & Sons was one of only 164 funeral homes globally to earn the 2012 Pursuit of Excellence Award from the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA). The NFDA presents the award to firms that demonstrate a commitment to raising the bar on funeral service excellence by adhering to strict ethical and professional standards and providing outstanding service to families and communities.
“It is a great honor to earn this award from the NFDA, and it is both humbling and exciting to be recognized for service excellence by such an outstanding industry organization,” said Dave McComb, co-owner of D.O. McComb & Sons. “As a family- and locally owned funeral home, we have been serving members of the community for more than 85 years. Our focus always has been, and always will be, providing the best service and best value possible to families in Fort Wayne, Allen County and beyond.”
To earn an NFDA Pursuit of Excellence Award, D.O. McComb & Sons was required to meet or exceed business standards set forth by the program, according to co-owner Doug McComb, and demonstrate proficiency in key areas of funeral service. These key areas include:
•Offering outstanding programs and resources for bereaved families
•Maintaining an active level of involvement within the community
•Providing ongoing education and professional development opportunities for staff
•Participating and actively serving in the funeral service profession
•Compliance with state and federal regulations
D.O. McComb & Sons has been recognized with the NFDA’s Pursuit of Excellence Award multiple times. This year’s award recipients will be honored at a recognition ceremony during the 2012 NFDA International Convention & Expo in Charlotte, NC, on October 8.
