“TASTE OF WAYNEDALE” TO BENEFIT AREA HUNGRY

What better way to raise funds for Community Harvest Food Bank and help feed struggling local families with an opportunity for the public to sample delicious food from area Waynedale restaurants. “Taste of Waynedale” hosted and sponsored by Kingston Residence located at 7515 Winchester Road, will offer samples of area restaurant specialties and a silent auction to benefit Community Harvest Food Bank on Tuesday, March 23rd from 4:30-7:30 pm.

“We are thrilled that Kingston Residence has stepped forward again this year to offer this unique and exciting event to help draw attention to the need in northeast Indiana,” says Jane Avery, Community Harvest Executive Director. “We continue to see the numbers of those needing assistance increase and we are now serving 21,100 different individuals every week. Those numbers are staggering. However, we are humbled by the individuals and good corporate citizens, like Kingston Residence, who have come forward to help,” says Avery.

Community Harvest Food Bank is the largest hunger relief organization in northeast Indiana, annually distributing nearly 10 million pounds of food. The food is distributed by nearly 500 churches and human service agencies in its member agency network, serving 16,500 unduplicated clients per week throughout its 9 northeast Indiana county service area. These agencies include food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, rehabilitation centers, and youth and senior citizen programs. Community Harvest Food Bank is a member of Feeding America and Feeding Indiana’s Hungry (FIsH).

“Taste of Waynedale is an ideal way to raise awareness about our hungry neighbors,” said Avery. “We really appreciate all the hard work Kingston Residence is putting in to ensure its success. They have a strong history of supporting Community Harvest and we can’t thank them enough for their efforts!”
