NEW SIGN FOR ROANOKE BAPTIST
Thousands of people travel east on I-469 each day. Just past I-69 they will notice a new sign that has been erected on the west end of the Roanoke Baptist Church property.
Approaching the quarter-mile long property from the west, most travelers assume the facility to be a public school, as it was for many years. Three and a half years ago Lafayette Center School was purchased by the Roanoke Baptist Church and converted to a church and Christian school. A large sign was painted on the east end of the building to identify it to those traveling west on I-469.
The new sign to the west is lighted at night. Roanoke Baptist Church is located at I-469, Exit One, a half mile east of the GM plant. It still retains a Roanoke address but better serves the many Ft. Wayne constituents who attend. The church and school was previously located on the north edge of Roanoke until a fire consumed the facility in February of 2002.
For more information, contact the Roanoke Baptist Church at 11015 Lafayette Center Rd, Roanoke, IN 46783, 260-478-5500.
