KOREAN WAR VETERANS ASSOCIATION INDIANA CHAPTER ONE
The KWVA Chapter One will be taking a bus trip to Washington, D.C. to celebrate the 50th year Anniversary of the truce of the Korean War. The dates are from July 22nd thru July 28th. We will be visiting many patriotic and historical places as well as doing many other fun things. Come and travel with us and join the fun! KWVA CHAPTER 1 MONTHLY MEETING
KWVA Chapter 1 will be having their monthly meeting on June 14, 2003 at the American Legion Post 82 on Harris Road. Meeting begins at 9am with breakfast and social hour at 7am. Come and join us in our hometown parades this summer. Friends and spouses are welcome.
QUIET WARRIORS CHAPTER OF THE KOREAN WAR VETERANS ASSOCIATION
Our next meeting will be on June 7, 2003 at the Waynewood Inn, 8421 Bluffton Rd. It is a bit beyond Waynedale on the South side of the Bluffton Rd., Ft. Wayne, IN. We will not be meeting in July due to the 4th of July weekend. Breakfast is at 9 a.m.‑ Meeting at 10 a.m.

AMERICAN FLAG QUESTIONS & ANSWERS FROM:
‘LET’S BE RIGHT ON FLAG ETIQUETTE’
Question – What is meant by respect for our flag?
Answer – 1)The flag should never be displayed with the union (blue) down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life and property. 2)The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise. 3)The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and ‘free’. 4)The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should always be allowed to fall free and never be tacked up. 5) The flag should never be fastened, displayed, used, or stored in such a manner as to permit it to be easily torn, soiled, or damaged in any way. 6)The flag should never be used as a covering for a ceiling. 7)The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature. 8)The flag should never be used as a receptacle for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything. 9) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. 10) No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations. The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the heart.

A DAY OF UNITY
We, the Veterans of Allen County, would like to invite the families of ALL Military personnel deployed in the DEFENSE of our FREEDOMS and LIBERTIES, to a day of FUN & RECOGNITION. Refreshments will be furnished. It will take place at the Veterans’ National Memorial Shrine on O’Day Road here in Fort Wayne. It will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2003 from 11am until ???? There will be a Special Program at 2pm with entertainment by the Kimmy Dean Show from 4pm until 7:30pm.
