FOX ISLAND IN THE WINTER

Cross-Country Skiing was open while the snow lasted. Tom Lochner, Cross-Country Ski Supervisor, advises to call ahead for current ski conditions.

With the recent snowfall of over 8 inches, many skiers experienced the miles of beautiful wooded trails this past weekend as the Fox Island Trails on Yohne Road were open for cross-country skiing.

Allen County Parks need at least 4 inches of snow to operate their Cross-Country Ski Program. Cross-Country Skis and Boots are available for rent in sizes ranging from child to adult. Rental Hours are from 9am to 4pm. Rental Fees are: $5 per hour for adults, $4 per hour for Seniors and children 12 and under. Those renting skis are not required to pay admission to the park.

For current ski conditions, or more information on Fox Island Park Programs, please call the Allen County Parks Department offices at 449-3180 or the ski rental building at 449-3196.
