HENRY E. STARNES, 81
Henry E. Starnes, 81, died Monday, April 1, 2002 at Covington Manor Nursing Center in Fort Wayne. Born in Winchester, Tennessee, he was a crane operator with Nobis Construction for 20 years and retired in 1982. He was a member of D.A.V. and a World War II Army veteran. He received the Purple Heart.
Survivors include his wife, Alice M.: two daughters, Cheryl N. Bayless of Springfield, Ohio; and Lana M. Sorlie of Fort Wayne; two sons, Danny H. of Fort Wayne and Ned H. of Goshen; a bother, John of Fort Wayne; tow sisters, Laverne Crownover of Winchester, Tennessee and Carolyene Emerick of Hoagland; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services were held Friday, April 5, 2002 at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home with burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials to Waynedale Church of Christ.
