DAVE HANCOCK — WHAT A CHAMPION!
Hello Pool Players this issue is a tribute to Dave Hancock. What a champion! I will always remember that team: Weldon Rogers, Mitch Bedree, Art Riveria, Danny Briggs, Otis Saylor and Captain Dave Hancock. What a run this team had at the Las Vegas International Team Championships in 1988- 1st Place in Master Division, 1990- 2nd Place and in 1991- 3rd Place. (WOW) Teams from all around the world come to Las Vegas that week and to say your team was the best in the whole world is fantastic, congratulations. Here are some more achievements; (4) 30 Zips one in 1989, 1992, 1994 and 2002. His team either won our leagues or runner-ups since league started. Indiana Team Masters, his team, won in 1990, 1997 and Runner Ups several times. Can Am Champions Team in 1988, 1989, 1990, 1992, 1997 and runner up several times.

Dave grew up in Fostoria, Ohio started playing pool at the age of 15; at the pool hall down the street called the Smoke House. Came to Fort Wayne in 1973 played a lot of pool at Funky Freddy’s on Pearl Street (Jim Vachon – Owner). He learned a lot from his friend Gary Pinkowski (Porky) they ran around together hustling pool. Dave has a lot of stories with (Porky) but refuses to go there.

Dave and his wife, Shannon will celebrate their 3-year anniversary in Oct of 2002. They have 5 great children at home. Dave is a Licensed Building Contractor and owner of Indiana Advanced Roofing. Congratulations Dave Hancock. You are truly a Champion of Champions. Until next time Practice, Practice, Practice.
