PENDLETON STORE DONATES TO POWWOW

This is the 3rd year that the Fort Wayne Pendleton Store located in Covington Plaza on West Jefferson St. has donated one of their famous 100% wool Indian Blankets to the Mihsihkinaahkwa Powwow. Pendleton Blankets are frequently sought by collectors and are valued for their beauty as well as their warmth and durability. These blankets aren’t just for use on the bed; they are also exquisite wall hangings. It is quite appropriate that the blanket being donated is called “Code Talkers” since this year the focus of the 7th Annual Powwow is “Honoring the Veterans.”

The powwow is accepting donations for the annual raffle and the blanket will be the top prize. The proceeds from the raffle help to defray the cost of the powwow. Each year the powwow committee tries to expand their art and educational programming and the income from the raffle helps make this possible. For your opportunity to become the new owner of this wonderful blanket, attend the powwow at Morsches Park in Columbia City on Saturday, August 10th from 10am to 8pm and/or Sunday, August 11th from 10am to 5pm.

The powwow is also made possible this year, in part, by funding from the Whitley County Community Foundation, Arts United of the Greater Fort Wayne Area, and the Indiana Arts Commission.
