HILLSDALE COLLEGE

Nathan Conroy, a Freshman, Biology major at Hillsdale College was named to the 2002 spring semester Dean’s list with a 3.4 GPA. Nathan is also a member of the Hillsdale College golf team and pep band. Nathan is the son of Jim and Rita Conroy of Yoder, Indiana and is a 2001 graduate of Bishop Luers High School. He is also a member of St. Therese parish here in Waynedale. Hillsdale College is located at 33 E. College Street Hillsdale, Michigan.

 

BISHOP LUERS HIGH SCHOOL

The BLHS Minstrels Show Choir Camp will be held from August 5th through August 9th, 2002 from 9:30am to 11:30am. The camp will be held in the BLHS gym for 1st through 8th graders. Cost is $35, which includes a camp T-shirt. Come and enjoy a week full of fun, friendship, music and dance, topped off with an awards ceremony and a final performance for the parents. Registration forms are in the Bishop Luers front office or call Bishop Luers at 456-1261.

 

TAYLOR UNIVERSITY FORT WAYNE CAMPUS

TUFWC TO HOST GOLF OUTING

TUFWC will host its 22nd Annual Pastor’s Golf Outing, Monday, August 26, 2002 at Foster Park Golf Course. The pastor’s golf outing invites all pastors, missionaries, and full-time Christian workers in the greater Fort Wayne area for a time of golfing, “Florida Scramble” format, and fellowship. Registration and a continental breakfast begin at 7am, tee-off follows. The morning concludes with a brunch and awards at 10:45am at Taylor Fort Wayne’s Eicher Student Commons. Underwriters for this year’s event include: Taylor University Fort Wayne, Golden Rule Sewer, Hoch Insurance, Lake City Bank, Bobick’s Golf, Inc. and Poorman’s Heating and Air Conditioning.

“The pastor’s golf outing is an excellent opportunity for area pastors and full-time Christian service workers to network and have a morning of fun. The relaxed golf course atmosphere provides much needed fellowship and encouragement,” states Michael Mortensen, director of alumni relations & annual giving and coordinator of the event.

The fee for the morning event is $14 per person, which includes greens fee for 9 holes, two motorized carts per foursome, brunch, refreshments and prizes. To register or for more information, contact Tami Solak, secretary for alumni relations, at 744-8790.

TUFWC RECEIVES $100,000 GIFT FROM STAR FINANCIAL BANK FOR MBA PROGRAM

Taylor University Board of trustees and faculty announce the approval of a Master of Business Administration degree, fall 2003, pending program accreditation. Taylor Fort Wayne recently received a $100,000 gift from Star Financial Bank, Fort Wayne, Indiana for development of the MBA program.

The MBA degree program is administered by Dr. Larry W. Rottmeyer, professor and campus director of the business program. The program will challenge students to develop and apply their Christian faith by examining such individual traits as integrity, character, leadership, change and creativity. Graduate business students will be stimulated to learn and think critically as a result of the effective use of innovative instructional methods and delivery systems.
