RICHARD P. AKER, 73
Richard P. Aker, 73, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003 at Parkview Hospital. A native of Fort Wayne, He was employed at International Harvester for 25 years. He retired in 1985. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, United Auto Workers Chapter 57, American Legion Post #241, and he was a Korean War U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Yoder. He was preceded in death by daughter Dorothy Aker.
He is survived by Arlene V. Aker, his wife of 45 years, Yoder; daughter Noreen Ormiston, Fort Wayne; sons Richard A. Aker, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Michael D. Aker, Auburn, Indiana; Roger L. Aker, Land O’ Lakes, Florida; brothers Howard Aker, Fort Wayne; Ronald Aker, Columbia City, Indiana; 8 Grandchildren, and 1 step Grandchild.
A wake service was held in conjunction with the Knights of Columbus, Friday, May 9, 2003 at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home for Funerals with Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, May 10, 2003 at the funeral home. Burial was in St. Aloysuis Catholic Cemetery in Yoder, Indiana. Memorials to Masses or donor’s choice.
