LLOYD EDWARD SPRINGER, 77, of Zanesville and wintering in Dunnellon, Florida, died Friday, March 11, 2005, at Timber Ridge Emergency Hospital, Ocala, Florida.
Born February 23, 1928, in Fort Wayne, he was owner/operator of Lloyd Springer Excavating. He was a member of American Legion Post 241, V.F.W. 1421, 40 @ 8, Elks, Inverness, Florida and Zanesville United Methodist Church. He was discharged after serving during World War II, in 1947. He was an avid golfer.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Springer of Zanesville and Dunnellon, Florida; son, Michael (Vicky) Springer of Huntington; daughter, Debra Koester of Zanesville; stepsons, Dan Hanes of Huntington, Rick Hanes of Fort Wayne and Ron Hanes of Bluffton; stepdaughter, Cynthia French of Fort Wayne; sisters, Judy Glassley of Fort Wayne and Arlene Maitlen of Greenville; grandchildren, Kelly Springer and Todd Springer, both of Huntington; 12 step-grandchildren; and 15 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by son, Kenneth Springer.
Funeral service was Friday, March 18, at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Military honors by American Legion Post 241. Burial at Hoverstock Cemetery.
