ROBERT L. BACON, 87
ROBERT L. BACON, 87, of Fort Wayne, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at his residence. Born February 27, 1918, in Findley, Ohio, he was the son of the late Louis A. and Grace G. (Welch) Bacon. He was an Engineer for I.H.C. for 35 years, retiring in 1974. He served in the Air Force. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post #296, V.F.W. Post #10006, 40@8, Quiet Birdman, Fort Wayne Allen County Historical Society; Indiana Canal Association and Fort Wayne Street Rod Association.
Surviving are two sons, David T. Bacon of Markle and Richard R. (Cheryl) Bacon of Fort Wayne; three grandchildren; and sister, Margaret Rector of Pitsfield, Massachusetts.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Anne Brothers, in March of 1993.
Funeral service was Saturday, April 9, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road. Burial at First Presbyterian Church Columbarium.
