MARIE WARNER HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Marie is 102 years old and her birth date is March 22, 1904. She does not express a philosophy on how she has lived to be over 100 years old.
She recalls as a child, playing outside in good weather with her brothers (one older and one younger) and we played “Andy over”. I walked ? mile to a one-room school, but then part of the time when I went to high school, I drove (a horse and buggy).” She reports that during school, there was a barn provided at the back of the school for the horses and buggies. She met her husband, Lawrence, at the “common school.”
“We lived across the road from my parents…there were two farms. My husband taught school in the Fort Wayne Community Schools.” They drove (both she and her husband) a horse and buggy at first, and then later they got a Ford Model T. She said that they had a TV when they first got married, and she recalls having a telephone as long as she could remember.
Marie said that she and her husband traveled extensively with “Bob Seaver” from WOWO, including going to Africa, etc.
Marie states, “I have that picture of my husband Lawrence sitting there and when I get in some kind of trouble, I look at his picture and say, “Now, how are you going to help me get out of this one!” And she reports that somehow he usually does.
