KATHERINE E. GILLIE, 67
KATHERINE E. GILLIE, 67, of Fort Wayne, died Friday, May 5, 2006, at her residence. Born October 10, 1938, in Fort Wayne, she worked at International Harvester in the Purchasing Department for 27 years and then worked for the Allen County Sheriff’s Department for 12 years, retiring in 1998. She was a 1956 graduate of Elmhurst High School, past president of American Legion 241 Auxilliary and a member of the V.F.W. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed gardening, garage sales and auctions.
“She was a loving mother, wife and friend to all and will be remembered forever.”
Survived by her husband, James R. Gillie of Fort Wayne; son, Gene “Cliff” (Lisa) Friar Jr. of Fort Wayne; daughter, Cheryl L. Friar of Fort Wayne; stepson, James Gillie Jr. of Fort Wayne; stepdaughter, Ann (Scott) Smith of Markscenter, Ohio; grandchildren, Adam Friar and Brandon O’Brien; and step-grandchildren, Tristen and Trey Smith.
Service was Tuesday at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Burial at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ossian.
