DONALD N. HERMAN, 80
DONALD N. HERMAN, 80, of Fort Wayne, died Saturday, January 5, 2008, at the V.A. Medical Center in Marion, Indiana. Born on December 9, 1927, in Yoder, Indiana, he was a Service Manager at Indiana Equipment Company for 27 years, retiring in 1990. He had served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division, and he was a member of Harmony Lodge I.O.O.F. 19, and Waynedale Masonic Lodge 739 F & AM. He attended Waynedale United Methodist Church, and enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting.
“He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.”
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen A. (Mutton) Herman of Fort Wayne; sons, John R. (Janet K.) Herman of Corunna, and Ronald C. (Andrea) Herman of Fort Wayne; brothers, Raymond D. of Fort Wayne and Edwin M. of Ossian; grandchildren, Zach, Capt. Alicia, Alex, David and Mark; and step-grandchildren, Shannon Robinson and Kelley Davies.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Mable M. McMillen.
Service was Wednesday, January 9, at Waynedale United Methodist Church, 2501 Church St., Fort Wayne. Calling was Tuesday, January 8, at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, with Harmony Lodge Service and Masonic Lodge Service. Burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ossian.
